Polish farmers created these traditional designs with inspiration from the proud peacock. Over the years the technique of using handmade stencils to create the designs have become a form of art passed on to new generations. They now make pottery with more colors and detailed patterns. Some of the more intricate patterns are "Unikat" pottery (as pictured above), which means signature or unique. These pottery pieces are signed by the artisian. |
